The Sandy Smith Nature Reserve has been owned and managed by the Greensand Trust since 2006. A variety of habitats are present – wet woodland, grazing meadow and reed bed which is designated as a County Wildlife Site and ex-arable land which is being managed to benefit farmland wildlife by planting hedges, allowing woodland regeneration and restoring acid and neutral grassland.
