ENJOY WALKING?
Then we need you!
The Greensand Ridge Walk is a cross-county walk following the greensand ridge from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay (40 mile / 64km). The walk is very picturesque and is an ideal introduction to the history, landscape and wildlife of this part of the country. Bluebells, green woodpeckers and muntjac deer are often seen along the route.
Local volunteers help us maintain the walk, taking on a small section (as long or short as they like) which they walk at least three times a year filling in a simple survey form. Some also replace waymarker discs and cut back overhanging vegetation.
If you enjoy walking and would like to help us maintain the Greensand Ridge Walk in your local area please contact Lorna Walker (Greensand Trust) on 01234 743666
We would be very grateful of any help that you could give. We will provide equipment such as secateurs and gloves.
