A one day course designed for environmental educators, teachers and parents and suitable for anyone working with children in an outdoor setting. Join professional story teller Jane Lambourne to develop your confidence in using stories with an opportunity to take the first step to telling a tale yourself!

A storyteller tells a tale rather than reading from a book. Our tutor Jane from Wassledine brings 20 years of experience in telling tales and leading activities for nature reserve managers, museums, park and community groups.

You will get to know Maulden Wood and the Working Woodlands Centre and become more confident in your storytelling. Whether you are helping children discover their local wildlife or working to develop speaking, listening and creative writing skills with young people, this course will no doubt help.

Contents may vary slightly depending on the participants but includes: using stories in an activity session, traditional tales, treasure boxes, sharing, how to remember and telling outside.

- Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and waterproofs.

- Simple Lunch provided – please provide details of any special dietary or other requirements.

The cost of £45 is subsided thanks to funding from the Greensand Country Landscape Partnership.

The Greensand Country Landscape Partnership is led by the Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity and local environment charity, The Greensand Trust, and is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It is made possible by National Lottery players; without them we couldn’t fund the project.

Please make sure you have read our booking Terms & Conditions for specialist training courses at The Working Woodlands Centre.
