Have you ever wondered why the landscape of the Greensand Ridge is so very different from the rest of Bedfordshire? Why is there an abundance of heather, birch and pine trees that you see in Rushmere Country Park?  It is down to the rocks beneath the ground which influence the shape of the land, the soils and the rest of the ecosystem.

This fundraising talk by Anne Williams of the Bedfordshire Geology Group seeks to explain the geology of the Lower Greensand (now renamed the Woburn Sands) within its Bedfordshire setting and introduces the Bedfordshire Geology Group's new Western Geotrail.

  • Tickets £4 per person (including £2 voucher to be used in the Tree Tops Café)
  • The talk will be held in the Education Room in the Herons' View Visitor Centre
  • All proceeds from these talks are reinvested into the park
