We're recruiting a casual Bike Activity Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operation of the cycling trails and jump areas at The Greensand Trust sites.

You'll work as part of the Ranger team in the management of our cycling provision, including weekend cover and decision making. You will manage our volunteer groups and their regular maintenance tasks on the trails/ jump areas, planning the works required. You will need a thorough understanding of the Risk Management relating to trails for Mountain Biking and will manage trail inspections. You will support visitors using our cycling facilities providing information and dealing with enquiries. You will need to be an experienced mountain bike rider with experience of the mountain bike industry.

    Pay: £10 per Hour + Holiday Pay

    Contract: Zero Hours

    Prospects:  Opportunities to take on specific areas of responsibility within the Ranger Service as experience develops. 

    Hours of work:  You will be offered hours by The Greensand Trust as they become available. As demand grows moving into spring/summer work maybe extended up to 5 days a week. Rota is set a minimum of 1 month is advance. The minimum hours for a single attendance will be 8 hours. It is expected the role will start at 2 days per week with the possibility of increasing this depending on demand.

    Annual leave entitlement: There are no annual leave or bank holiday entitlement, however pay rate has been adjusted by a statutory 12.07% to compensate.

    Pension: A Stakeholder Pension is available with employer’s contribution of 3% depending on government criteria.

    Vehicle & travel requirements: A vehicle will be provided for work purposes, which is shared by the other officers and rangers.  A certain amount of travel will be required as part of your work between sites and to the Trust’s other offices.  A mileage allowance is given for travel for work purposes in your own vehicle or by bicycle.

    Uniform/dress code: A uniform will be provided which you will be expected to wear when on duty
