The Greensand Country Landscape Partnership (GCLP), led by the Greensand Trust and Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity, was formally launched by the Duke of Bedford on the 14th June at Woburn Safari Lodge.  Around 80 guests heard about the Partnership’s plans for the next 4 years, including a presentation from the Trust’s Director of Development Jon Balaam.

The GCLP has received over £1.6m funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund which includes funding to support heathland restoration work at Rushmere Country Park, training courses, events and activities at the Working Woodlands Centre, educational activities and improvements to the Greensand Ridge Walk.

Funding for habitat-related projects is now available, with grants of up to £15,000.  Please see www.greensandcountry.com for further information.  We’d particularly like to hear from you if you are a woodland owner, and are interested in a woodland advisory visit to help support you in bringing your woodland into positive management.  Please contact Sue Raven at The Greensand Trust for further details (sue.raven@greensandtrust.org / 01234 744596).
