Discover the Greensand Ridge Our projects Youth Volunteering Project We are currently running our third Youth Ranger scheme as part of the Houghton Hall Park Renaissance and Renewal project and are always looking for opportunities to fund more. Our Youth Ranger schemes are volunteering opportunities specifically for young people aged between 13 and 18 years old. It’s an excellent way to take an active role in wildlife conservation and habitat management, develop a range of new skills and gain practical experience alongside a team of like-minded and enthusiastic people. The scheme lasts for a number of weeks, and comprises a mixture of evening meetings and training sessions, along with practical conservation tasks held at weekends. Participants will also have the opportunity to work towards a John Muir award during the scheme, in recognition of their achievements. As a Youth Ranger you could be involved in: • Planting trees • Creating trails, interpretation and information boards • Building boardwalks, bird hides and fences • Planning and managing events for the public • Managing habitats for wildlife For further information contact us on 01234 743666 Email email@example.com or Erika.firstname.lastname@example.org Details of our latest youth ranger scheme in Houghton Hall Park are available here.
