Working Woodlands ProjectThe Working Woodlands project aims to protect, enhance and promote the woodlands of the Greensand Ridge for their biodiversity, heritage and recreational value, their role in the landscape, as providers of ecosystem services, and as part of the rural economy. Main objectives of the project are to: better understand our local woodlands, their importance, the challenges they face and possible solutions raise awareness of the importance of our local woodlands and their management and encourage people to visit and enjoy them responsibly promote the beneficial and sustainable management of our local woodlands continue to develop the Working Woodlands Centre as a base for training, education and visiting Maulden Wood, and as a focus for woodland initiatives on the Greensand Ridge About the centre Facilities Find us Events News Learning activities Bookings Support Into the Wood and onto the Heath A Family Adventure as part of Heathland Awareness Week Join us on an adventure that will take you into the woods and onto the heath - a family walk through Maulden Wood to find secrets on the heath. Led by the Greensand Trust education team and a wildlife expert, there will be riddles and stories on the way and wildlife wonders to discover. £3 per child (accompanying adults go free) Aimed at families with children over 5 years old all children must be accompanied by an adult No dogs please Please note some parts of the route are away form surfaced paths and across uneven ground.
