Valley Slide re-opens

The Greensand Trust is delighted to announce the popular Valley Slide at Rushmere Country Park re-opened on Saturday 24 March, following its recent closure. The decision was taken at a recent meeting of Trustees and partners of the environmental charity.Read more

Youth Rangers celebrate conservation achievements at Houghton Hall Park

A group of Youth Rangers, supported by The Greensand Trust, are celebrating completion of a six month volunteer conservation programme they took part in at Houghton Hall Park in Houghton Regis. The 2017-18 sessions, which began last September, have inspired and encouraged young people to learn new skills, gain valuable work experience and a recognised environmental award, while having fun and making a difference to the park.Read more

The Greensand Trust acquires Shire Oak Heath but needs help for restoration and safer cycle access

The Greensand Trust is delighted to announce it has been successful in its bid to purchase Shire Oak Heath, a 17 acre site neighbouring Rushmere Country Park which the Trust runs on a not-for-profit basis. This means that restoration works can now begin. However, the Trust remains £15K short of the £50K it needs to complete its vision of vibrant heathland habitats and further funding is needed to create a safer cycle access into the park via Thrift Road.Read more
