Walk the Ridge: Led Greensand Ridge Walks

Have you wanted to walk the Greensand Ridge but never done it? Or perhaps you’re a seasoned walker?

As part of the Greensand Country Festival this May, we are running led walks along the Greensand Ridge Route. The walks will be broken down into 3 manageable sections (no more than 14 miles) and will take place on Saturdays. Open to all abilities willing and able to do the stated distance.

We will provide coach transport from the parking place to the start of the walk section, and then walk along the Greensand Ridge path back to the parking.

The walks will be held:

• Saturday 4^th May: Walking from Leighton Buzzard to Ridgmont (parking and coach travel will be from Ridgmont). Please arrive by 9:15 at the latest, the coach will leave at 9:30. Walk will finish approx 16:30.
• Saturday 18^th May: Walking from Ridgmont to Haynes (parking and coach travel will be from Haynes). Please arrive by 9:15 at the latest, the coach will leave at 9:30. Walk will finish approx 16:30.
• Saturday 1^st June: Walking from Haynes to Gamlingay (parking and coach travel will be from Gamlingay). Please arrive by 9:15 at the latest, the coach will leave at 9:30. Walk will finish approx 16:30.

These walks will not be challenge walks, but participants will need to carry all their food and drink requirements since there will be no café or pub stops during the walk, although there will be a pub at the end of each walk. Suitable footwear and clothing are required. Unfortunately dogs are not permitted, due to the coach travel.  

Also, please be aware that the walks will pass through typical Greensand Country landscapes, hence public toilets will be few and far between.

Ticket option 1: All three walks £25

Ticket option 2: Saturday 4^th May only- £10

Ticket option 3: Saturday 18^th May only- £10

Ticket option 4: Saturday 1^st June only- £10

Please ensure you book on the ticket option you require - you may also book one or two of these walks using the tickets below.

Please note:

The walks will only be able to go ahead if enough tickets are sold to cover the cost of the transportation. Should we not sell sufficient tickets to cover the costs, we will have to cancel the event. Should this happen, tickets will be refunded.

If the walks do go ahead, tickets are only refundable if there is someone on the waiting list able to take your place.
